Democratic Primary for Governor is Getting Nasty
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is now saying the “Democratic gloves come off” ahead of the August Democratic primary for Governor.
The article details how Madison Mayor Paul Soglin attacked state firefighters union chief Mahlon Mitchell at a candidate forum on Monday. Soglin blasted Mitchell for 1) supporting Uber; 2) supporting proposed tax incentives for a Fox Valley paper company; 3) and highlighting Mitchell’s “suck up letter” to Governor Walker after Act 10 was introduced in 2011.
Mitchell responded by slamming Soglin for issuing “crazy accusations,” but Mitchell had himself attacked Kelda Helen Roys last week with a Facebook post.
Mitchell took issue with being labeled a “Union Boss.”
Another nasty attack came last week when Attorney Matt Flynn accused State DPI Superintendent of Schools Tony Evers of using “Scott Walker tactics.”
The release of tomorrow’s Marquette Law School Poll should be a barometer on where the Democratic Primary for Governor Stands. The winner will take on Governor Scott Walker this fall.
